Welcome

Please feel free to post any questions, comments, or concerns you may have about the valet field.  There are many fly-by-night companies and I hope that here we can help you avoid choosing the wrong company to represent you.

There are 5 things you MUST demand from your valet company.  If you answer no to any of these questions you should reconsider hiring that company.

  • Has your valet company provided you with an up-to-date certificate of insurance naming you additional insured from an A+ rated insurance carrier?
  • Does your valet company have a minimum of one million dollars of general liability insurance and one million dollars of garage keepers legal liability insurance?
  • Has your valet company provided you with an up-to-date certificate of worker’s compensation insurance?
  • Does your valet company pay its employees legally and adhere to state and federal labor laws?
  • Does your valet company provide professionally uniformed, well groomed friendly staff to greet your guests?

Remember that valet parking is more than just parking cars.

Safety & Security

Nothing bothers me more than when I valet at an establishment only to see that there lock box for keys is and box made of two by fours and plywood doors.  Their locks are just a hook that even a two year old can get open.

I can't understand why establishment owners would be ok with this.  Keys are worth more than the $12.00 it costs to make them.  They start a moving, dangerous, costly machine.

So, if you are having valet at your home or business, make sure keys are secured in a steel lock box.
