Welcome

Please feel free to post any questions, comments, or concerns you may have about the valet field.  There are many fly-by-night companies and I hope that here we can help you avoid choosing the wrong company to represent you.

There are 5 things you MUST demand from your valet company.  If you answer no to any of these questions you should reconsider hiring that company.

  • Has your valet company provided you with an up-to-date certificate of insurance naming you additional insured from an A+ rated insurance carrier?
  • Does your valet company have a minimum of one million dollars of general liability insurance and one million dollars of garage keepers legal liability insurance?
  • Has your valet company provided you with an up-to-date certificate of worker’s compensation insurance?
  • Does your valet company pay its employees legally and adhere to state and federal labor laws?
  • Does your valet company provide professionally uniformed, well groomed friendly staff to greet your guests?

Remember that valet parking is more than just parking cars.

Contracts
June 26th, 2009 at 4:05 pm

You should always have a contract when hiring a service.  Remember that a contract is more than just a hand shake.  It helps to outline each party's expectations and clearly documents each parties intentions so that there is no misunderstanding or disputes.

A good contract will make sure to clarify who is responsible if something goes wrong.  And you as the owner should never be liable.  Make sure to obtain the necessary insurance from your contractor.
